Ad Hoc Staff
« About |Garrison Buxton – Owner/Co-founder graduated with a BFA from the University of Oklahoma and an MFA from Brooklyn’s Pratt Institute. Buxton taught printmaking at Pratt until 2004, when he co-founded Peripheral Media Projects, Inc. {PMP}. PMP is a print shop & design studio specializing in fine art printmaking, smart graphics, textile fabrication, and cross-disciplinary collaborations. Next to the PMP studio, a creative space and gallery opened in 2005 and it was officially dubbed Ad Hoc Art in 2006. Buxton cultivates and expands Ad Hoc Art’s vision and scope in addition to curating the exhibitions and events.
Alison Wallis Buxton – Co-founder graduated with a BA from Sweet Briar College and then MBA from the University of Phoenix. Alison has worked in a variety of fields that have given her a broad knowledge of business and culture with her passions always leading her back to the arts. She moved to New York in March of 2006 to help run and re-create the store/gallery space and of course to be close to Garrison. She assisted in refocusing AHA & PMP’s efforts with the help of many wonderful people in the neighborhood. Alison handles the accounting, manages staff, interns, and volunteers, herds the cats, prepares food, puts out fires, finds homes for random birds in the hood at Roberta’s and whatever the day calls for in these robust times.
